PICTA

PICTA è alchimia silenziosa frammenti di vetro che si cercano, si trovano, si abbracciano a mille gradi. Ogni  granello porta con sé una storia diversa, un’origine lontana, eppure nel fuoco tutto si fonde in una sola pelle luminosa. La superficie che nasce è sempre una sorpresa: gioiosa, indomabile, mai uguale a se stessa. È il caos che diventa bellezza. È Lorenzo che firma le sue opere non con un nome, ma con un’identità un’impronta cromatica che non si può imitare né ripetere, perché appartiene solo a quel preciso istante in cui il forno ha detto la sua ultima parola.

PICTA is a silent alchemy of glass fragments that seek each other, find each other, and embrace each other at a thousand degrees. Each grain carries with it a different story, a distant origin, yet in the fire everything fuses into a single luminous skin. The resulting surface is always a surprise: joyful, indomitable, never the same. It is chaos that becomes beauty. It is Lorenzo who signs his works not with a name, but with an identity, a chromatic imprint that cannot be imitated or repeated, because it belongs only to that precise moment when the furnace has spoken its last word.

PICTA è uno smalto ceramico sperimentale sviluppato da Lorenzo, ottenuto attraverso la miscelazione di vetro polverizzato e pigmentato in più fasi successive di lavorazione. Il materiale viene applicato sulla superficie ceramica e sottoposto a cottura ad una temperatura di circa 1000°C, durante la quale le particelle vetrose entrano in fusione parziale, generando una cromia complessa. La variabilità cromatica caratteristica distintiva del processo è il risultato diretto dell’interazione tra la granulometria del vetro, la distribuzione dei pigmenti minerali e le condizioni termiche del forno. Ogni cottura produce una superficie unica per texture e colore, rendendo PICTA un sistema di finitura non standardizzabile e riconoscibile come segno d’autore nelle opere ceramiche più rappresentative della produzione di Lorenzo.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

PICTA is an experimental ceramic glaze developed by Lorenzo, obtained by mixing powdered and pigmented glass in multiple processing steps. The material is applied to the ceramic surface and fired at a temperature of approximately 1000°C, during which the glass particles partially melt, generating a complex color. The distinctive chromatic variability of the process is the direct result of the interaction between the glass grain size, the distribution of mineral pigments, and the thermal conditions of the kiln. Each firing produces a unique surface in terms of texture and color, making PICTA a non-standardized finishing system that is recognizable as a signature feature in Lorenzo's most representative ceramic works.
